Jammu, August 08: Gaurav Gupta, former General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu, has voiced serious concerns regarding the deteriorating situation in Bangladesh. He strongly condemned the recent vandalism of temples and targeting of minorities in the country, calling for immediate intervention to address the crisis.
In a statement issued today, Gaurav Gupta highlighted the alarming escalation of violence in Bangladesh, particularly targeting religious sites. “The vandalism of temples and the broader attacks on religious sites are deeply troubling and unacceptable,” he stated.
Gaurav also expressed grave concern for the safety of Indian nationals currently stranded in Bangladesh, especially students. “Thousands of Indian citizens, including a significant number of students, are trapped amidst the precarious situation. Their safety and well-being are of utmost concern,” he remarked.
Given the severity of the crisis, he has called upon the central government to take immediate and decisive action to ensure the safe return of Indian students and other citizens stranded in Bangladesh. “The central government must prioritize the evacuation of Indian nationals and ensure their safe passage back to India. It is crucial that the government deploys all necessary resources and diplomatic measures to address this urgent situation,” he urged.
He underscored the urgent need for coordinated efforts between the Indian government and relevant authorities to safeguard the lives of Indian citizens abroad and to address the broader implications of the violence in Bangladesh.
