New Delhi , October 09: India has strongly reacted and objected to Germany’s invocation of third party role in resolving Kashmir issue between India and Pakistan , and asked Berlin to look toward terror emanating from across the border , killing and maiming the people.
Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock while addressing a joint press conference with Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Zardari Bhutto remarked : “ Germany has a role and responsibility with regard to the situation of Kashmir . Therefore , we support intensively the engagement of the United nations to find peaceful solutions in the region.”
There are tensions as ( Pakistan Foreign Minister) described , so we encourage Pakistan and we encourage India to follow the track of ceasefire , to follow the track of the United nations , and to intensify the political and practical cooperation in the region.”
Taking strong exception to German Foreign Minister’s remarks regarding Kashmir and the role of the UN, the Indian foreign ministry has asked Germany to look at the cross border terrorism. MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagcchi on Saturday said the role and responsibility of any “ serious and conscientious member of the global community was to call out cross-border terrorism.”
He said that the “ Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir borne the brunt of terrorist campaign for decades . This continues till now , as eh also referred to the unfinished prosecution of Pakistan-based terrorists involved in the Mumbai 26/11 attacks . “ When states do not recognize such dangers , either because of self-interest or indifference , they undermine the cause of peace , not promote it . They also do grave injustice to the victims of terrorism.”
