January 10 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Jammu on January 13 to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir as also the development works , especially in view of the situation obtaining in Rajouri-Poonch districts along the LoC, where terrorists had killed seven people on the opening days of this new year.
Sources said that Amit Shah has taken a serious note of the security situation in Rajouri where terrorists could strike at the minority community . This has jolted the confidence of the people . as they have mounted demands for extra security forces. The Centre has already sent 18 companies of CRPF for Rajouri and Poonch districts . There are indications that more forces may be sent to J&K to ensure terror-free and fear-free atmosphere in the Union Territory
According to sources , the Home Minister may visit Rajouri to have an on-the spot assessment of the situation and assure the people that terrorists will not be allowed to cripple their life . The Home Minister is coming in less than a week after the BJP leaders of J&K unit met him in New Delhi. He has already assured that all steps, whichever are needed, will be taken to keep J&K free of terror .
He will also chair a meeting of the Unified Headquarter to study the new strategies to uproot terrorism .
