Rana for preserving secular ethos, democratic spirit

Describing secular character and democratic foundations as biggest strength of India, Provincial President National Conference Mr Devender Singh Rana on Wednesday underscored the crucial need for amity and harmony between various segments of society.

Hoisting tricolour on 72nd Independence Day at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan and Indira Chowk here this morning, Mr Rana reiterated the commitment of National Conference to strengthen bonds of brotherhood and restoration of lasting peace in the State..

He greeted the people on the auspicious occasion and hoped that they will strive for further forging the bonds of love and amity as per the glorious traditions of the state. He also cautioned the people against those creating wedge between various segments of society in the name of region, religion or caste, saying such elements were harming the larger national interest for their myopic political gains. He asserted that National Conference will foil the nefarious designs of these forces and exhorted people to fight peace inimical elements with their might.

Later, the Provincial President flagged of a motorcycle rally from Jammu to Suchetgarh Border, organized by Biker Brotherhood Motorcycle Club India. The bikers spent the day with BSF jawans. The rally was led by Jugraj Singh, founder and President, Biker Brotherhood Motorcycle Club, comprising 35 bikers. The exchanged sweets and spread the message of peace, progress and communal harmony in the region.
