Jammu, April 23: In a quest to stop illegal mining in Jammu district, Jammu police has seized seven vehicles involved in the crime.
Giving details, police said that they devised a strategy in which teams of police station Kanachak and police post Sidhra acted stringently on the specific inputs and raided at a location in their respective areas.
During the action seven vehicles involved in illegal mining were seized, which included one Tipper bearing Registration No JK02DC-8281, under jurisdiction of police station Kanachak and six vehicles, which included four Dumpers bearing Registration numbers JK02CR-7441, JK02DD-8773, JK02CE-0663, JK02CG8955 and two tippers bearing Registration numbers JK02CL-8773, JK02CG-4273 under jurisdiction of police post Sidhra.
The recoveries were made by SHO Police station Kanachak Inspector Rahul Mahajan and incharge police post Sidhra PSI Arun Kumar in their respective jurisdictions.
Police has intimated district mining officer Jammu about the same.
Police said that the mining was done in violation of order of High Court of J&K. “In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law Jammu Police has initiated strict action,” they added.
