Jammu, May 28: Jammu and Kashmir has revised the upper age limit for combined competitive examination in the Union Territory (UT) and has fixed it at 35 years for open category candidates.
These orders were issued after JK News Today did a story highlighting anxiety of the JKAS aspirants who thought that the existing age limit of 32 year’s disabled their chances to avail all the attempts to qualify for the combined services.
JKNEWS Today had done a story on the issue on its YouTube Channel and Facebook page , “ what’s causing anxiety among JKAS aspirants.”

Now the government has amended the rules , taking points highlighted by our report.

For reserved category candidates, the age limit has been kept at 37 years and for physically challenged candidates, it has been kept at 38 years.

The decision has come from Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha as the civil service aspirants of J&K were demanding since long to enhance the upper age limit.

JK News Today had raised this issue continuously and had become voice for the civil service aspirants of J&K.

Earlier, the government had kept the upper age limit for open category at 32 years and many candidates weren’t able to appear in the prestigious examination of the UT. For reserved categories it was 34 years and for physically challenged candidates it was 35 years.

Now, government yesterday ordered relaxation and enhanced the upper age limit, which has brought new hopes among the aspirants.
