The Kashmiri Pandit Sabha, Jammu while condemning the killing of ML Bindroo issued following statement:
“The killing of yet another innocent member of the minority community Makhan Lal Bindroo by terrorists in Srinagar is a highly deplorable act clearly aimed at creating a scare within the minorities and also vitiating the environment all over again. The GOI and the UT government has clearly failed in their duties to ensure safety and security of all innocent people especially those belonging to the minority community.
This brings to naught their tall claims that militants are on the run and peace has returned to the valley. Some time back the top army leadership had also made a tall announcement that the security forces were in total control of the situation.
Ironically this killing comes close on the heels of such misconcevied claims. The GOI and UT must own up responsibility and stop resorting to purely cosmetic treatment of the Kashmir situation. This dastardly killing should serve as an eye opener for the GOI about the undercurrents in the valley and it is indicative of the complete failure of their Kashmir policy inthisrespect. The radical Islamic Jihadists and hard-core terrorists have been striking at will and with uncanny regularity and choosing the softest of soft targets to show their presence again and again.
These killings have to be put to an end right away failing which the situation will go out of control putting the lives of thousands of people especially belonging to the minority community in jeopardy. The perpetrators of these unfortunate killings go scot free after committing these crimes which clearly shows that over ground workers and harbourers are present in large numbers and need to be unearthed and neutralized with a heavy hand right now.”
