New Delhi, July 13:

Indian and Chinese troops are set to hold the fourth round of Corps commander-level talks at the Line of Actual Control (LAC), de facto border between the two nations in Ladakh. As per India Today sources, the meeting will be held either on Tuesday.

This will be the first meeting between senior officials of the two forces after the first phase of disengagement. Now, the agenda will be further thinning of troops in all friction areas and reduction of artillery and armour at the bases along the LAC.

The meeting, to be hosted by the Indian Army in Chushul, is likely to focus on further disengagement in Pangong Tso area. Both troops have already pulled back and created a buffer zone in the Galwan River valley.

Government sources had earlier said that, in this meeting, the two countries will finalise modalities for de-induction of troops by both sides in their rear bases along the LAC.

The disengagement of troops from the friction points formally kicked off on July 6 following eight weeks of eyeball-to-eyeball confrontation between the two armies at multiple locations in eastern Ladakh.
