Following the face-off, multiple helicopters of the Indian Army conducted sorties in the area to track down injured soldiers

New Delhi, June17:

Sources tell India Today TV that the Chinese used drones to track down Indian soldiers in eastern Ladakh’s Galwan Valley. A violent face-off between Indian troops and soldiers of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) took place in the Galwan Valley on the night of June 15.

Going by the most recent input, India lost 20 soldiers in the line of duty and the Chinese are expected to have incurred more than 40 casualties. It has also been clarified by the Indian Army in multiple statements that not even a single bullet was fired during the face-off that occurred during the de-escalation process.

Following the face-off, multiple helicopters of the Indian Army conducted sorties in the area to track down injured soldiers. Many troops who went missing after the face-off were traced after air surveillance. A similar activity was carried out on the Chinese side, sources said.

Despite official statements, as many as 20 Indian troops wounded during the face-off are still in a critical condition while 20 have been declared ‘killed in the line of fire’.

On Wednesday, India’s External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar spoke to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi over the phone. Reports suggest that the Chinese Foreign Minister proposed that India and China should follow important consensus reached by their leaders. The same line was established by the MEA in its statement on Tuesday where it asserted that China was deflecting from its commitment to respect the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh.
