SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 11: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday evening confirmed that NC vice president Omar Abdullah met him and handed over letters of support for the government formation.
Though a communique issued by Raj Bhavan only mentioned that Omar handed him letters of NC president Farooq Abdlluah saying that Omar has been elected as leader of the legislature party , and that of support from Congress, CPI- M and AAP , this was apparently a reference to the staking of claim by the NC vice president.
The Rajbhavan Communique read : “
Shri Omar Abdullah, Vice President, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) called on Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan today. He handed over a letter from the Party President Dr. Farooq Abdullah stating that Shri Omar Abdullah has been elected as Leader of the Legislature Party of JKNC. Letters of support from INC, CPI(M), AAP and independent members were also handed over to the Lieutenant Governor”.
