Srinagar, October 22 : PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said on Saturday that she would be vacating her official residence- Fairview , overlooking Dal Lake , a day after media reported that the government had asked her to vacate the official bungalow.
Mehbooba told reporters in Bijbehra where she had gone to offer Fateh at the grave of her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that “ this ( the vacation of the official residence) was not an issue for her, and she would be vacating it.”
She, however , was miffed with media having made her residence as an issue of debate while they were ignoring the important issues concerning the people. The debate should be on the real and people-oriented issues, about their lives and problems rather on whether former chief ministers were entitled to accommodation or not.
