Veteran political and spiritual leader Mian Bashir passed away late Saturday evening , according his family members.
The family sources said that he breathed his last at 8.30 p.m. His condition had deteriorated Saturday afternoon around 2.
Mian Bashir’ who had been instrumental in transforming the political landscape in Jammu and Kashmir from uncertainties to certainties during his decades-long political career. He was held in high respect by Gujjars on both sides of the Line of Control.
His death has been widely mourned.
Mian Bashir was one of the confidants of late Mrs Indira Gandhi . He was trusted by all governments in the country , and in Jammu and Kashmir he commanded respect all across the political spectrum.
His Namaz-e- Janaza will be performed at Baba Nagri, Wangat, Kangan at 4 p m on Sunday- August 15.
