Prays for Rain Amid Scorching Heat

Srinagar, July 05: On the occasion of the farewell Friday of the Hijri year, Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq urged the Muslims of Kashmir to engage in self-reflection, considering whether their actions displeasing to Allah might be the cause of the severe trials they are facing.

Addressing the congregation at the historic central Jama Masjid in Srinagar, Mirwaiz, amid heartfelt prayers for rain, noted that the people have endured severe hardships and trials over the past year. He highlighted the current suffering due to intense heat and lack of rainfall, causing various difficulties and problems.

Mirwaiz criticized the J&K administration for its negligence regarding the erratic power supply during the hot weather. He pointed out that during the winter months, the public faced many issues due to severe power shortages. Now, with the intense heat, the government appears indifferent to its responsibilities in ensuring the supply of essential services like water and electricity, inspite of hike in tariff .

He added that with the month of Muharram approaching, it is the administration’s responsibility to ensure the provision of electricity , water and other essential items to the people.
