Jammu, 18th December: National Conference leader and MLA Banihal Sajjad Shaheen Attended the Annual sports Day function of the Kindergarten Wing of Government Sri Ranbir Model Higher Secondary School (SRML/SPMR), Jammu, as Chief Guest, celebrating the institution’s academic achievements as well as its historic and cultural significance.

Established in the late 19th century by Maharaja Ranbir Singh as Ranbir Pathshala, SRML is among the oldest and most prestigious centres of learning in Jammu. Over the past 140 years, it has stood as a symbol of vision, heritage, and public service, contributing significantly to the development of generations of students into responsible citizens, leaders, and professionals.

During the programme, MLA Sajjad Shaheen highlighted the historic importance and legacy of SRML, noting its consistent efforts to integrate tradition with modern education while preserving its unique heritage. He lauded the outstanding work of the faculty and the school management, whose dedication, commitment, and tireless efforts have upheld academic excellence, nurtured values, and maintained the institution’s prestigious reputation over generations.

As part of his visit, the MLA planted a sapling within the school premises, reflecting a commitment to sustainability alongside the preservation of the institution’s rich heritage. He emphasised that historic institutions like SRML must remain a priority in educational and developmental planning, ensuring their continued contribution to society and inspiration for future generations.

The MLA lauded the commendable role being played by the school management and the faculty, appreciating their dedication, professionalism, and sustained efforts in upholding academic excellence, discipline, and values that have defined SRML for over a century. He acknowledged that the institution’s continued relevance and prestige are a direct result of their tireless service and commitment to public education.
