“Family-run parties are not political organisations; they are profit-making shops for their owners; people should stop falling prey to the deceptive dynastic political parties”

Srinagar, June 21: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Sunday said that “the ruling NC’s proposed sit-in protest in Delhi is nothing more than a political drama aimed at misleading the people.”
He said that the “NC and other traditional parties have never been serious or sincere about genuine public issues and concerns.”
He also said, “Apni Party strongly believes that the Government of India must engage with the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the youth, to bridge the trust deficit and address their genuine issues and concerns.”
He further said that only a sincere and meaningful dialogue between the Centre and the people of Jammu and Kashmir can ensure an effective resolution of their problems and concerns, as well as help bridge the prevailing trust deficit.
Apni Party chief made these remarks today while addressing a convention at SDA Colony, Lachmanpora, Batamaloo, in Srinagar.
On this occasion, NC’s joint Secretary Gulzar Ahmad Bangroo formally joined Apni party along with his hundreds of associates and workers.
Addressing the occasion, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said that “The family-run parties in Jammu and Kashmir are not political organisations dedicated to serving the people; rather, they are business enterprises designed to generate profits for those who lead and own them.”
He urged the people “not to fall prey to the deceptive politics and misleading narratives propagated by these dynastic parties and instead support those who are genuinely working for the welfare and well-being of the people.”
Talking about the historic importance of Batamaloo, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said that “Batmaloo has always been a vibrant area of the city and has produced a number of prominent political and social personalities over the decades.”
However, he blamed the “traditional political parties for reducing this vibrant area to an undeveloped and uninhabitable locality.”
He said, “Just look at this place. It lacks even basic facilities, and some areas here do not receive a proper drinking water supply despite being located near the Civil Secretariat.”
“My first disagreement with the PDP began when it decided to shift the Batmaloo General Bus Stand to Parimpora in Srinagar. This decision proved damaging to the interests of Batmaloo, which was once a thriving economic hub,” Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said.
He also accused the ruling NC for ignoring Srinagar and failing to ensure steady development, along with adequate civic and other basic facilities for its residents.
He said, “Srinagar elected as many as eight NC MLAs, yet the ruling party did not appoint a single one of them as a minister. This reflects the government’s attitude towards this important and historic city.”
“Indeed, the Chief Minister himself resides in the city; however, the fact remains that he represents Ganderbal,” he added.
On the hardships and challenges being faced by the people of the city, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari went on to say, “Unfortunately, the existing reservation policy also goes against the interests of the people of the city because they do not fall under any reserved category. This unjust policy allocates 30 percent of the benefits to 70 percent of the population, while 70 percent of the benefits are reserved for 30 percent of the population. This policy is completely based on injustice.”
Lashing out at the ruling NC, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said that it has completely failed to deliver on its promises to the people.
Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, “During their election campaign, NC leaders simply misled the people through false promises and blatant lies.”
“Where are the 200 units of free electricity for residents that they had promised? Where are the free gas cylinders? What happened to their promise of providing one lakh jobs shortly after assuming power in J&K? They had also promised to regularise daily wagers. What happened to these promises? Where is the additional ration quota that they had promised to their voters?” he asked.
“Twenty months after the formation of this government, all these promises have proven to be false,” he said.
He cautioned people not to fall prey to the false promises made by these traditional parties any longer. He said, “They simply lie to the people for their political and electoral interests.”
He also termed the NC’s proposed sit-in protest in Delhi a “drama” and said that, through this so-called protest, the party was once again trying to mislead the people.
Taking a dig at the PDP, he said, “it was the party that had sought votes from the people by promising to keep the BJP away from J&K. However, after winning the election, it joined hands and formed an alliance with the same BJP, thereby ridiculing the public mandate.”
He said that these traditional parties have always been hand in glove with the BJP. He recalled how 180 young people were killed when this party was at the helm of affairs.
On this occasion, NC’s joint Secretary Gulzar Ahmad Bangroo joined Apni party along with his hundreds of associates and workers. The prominent political and social activists who formally joined the party included Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Mohammad Shafi Bhat, Ali Mohammad Bhat, Ghulam Mohiuddin Sheikh, Fayaz Ahmad, Ghulam Mohiudin Dar, Noor Mohammad Bangroo, Bilal Ahmad Bangroo, Showkat Ahmad Sofi, Mohammad Amin Khan, Abdul Ahad Chara, Noor Mohammad Sheikh, Arif Ahmad Sheikh, Imran Ahmad Khan , Noor Mohammad Bhat, Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, Showkat Ahamad Bhat, Shabir Ahmad Zargar, Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, Rakib Ahmad Dar, and hundreds of others.
