15 Nov. 2022 . The 15th Academic Council Meeting of Central University was held in the university campus under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain. In his opening remarks, Prof. Jain extended a warm welcome to Prof. Varun Sahni,  Member Expert  and other members of AC for guiding and working relentlessly for the growth of CUJ. The Vice Chancellor expressed satisfaction in congratulating the three faculty members of CUJ, Prof. Deepak Pathania, Dr. Richa Kothari and Dr. Pawan Kumar who have featured in the list of world ranking of top 2% scientists in 2021 database created by Stanford University, U.S.  Thereafter, the Vice Chancellor shared his vision of attaining institutional excellence and underscored the relevance of National Education Policy ( NEP 2020) which transcends disciplinary boundaries and empowers the learner to imbibe learning through innovative inter-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary process.  Prof. Jain expressed his thanks to all deans and Heads for working out meticulously the implementation of NEP-2020 from the new academic session- 2022 wherein thrust has been laid on Academic bank of credits; multiple entry exist  scheme and offering open electives. Further , the Vice Chancellor said that in order to achieve institutional excellence, various administrative, research and innovative initiatives have been taken by the University which were tabled by the Registrar Dr. Yashwant Singh. Various notable decisions ratified in the Meeting were e-content development to enhance access to University’s academic programs by leveraging information and communication technology for massive outreach, through high quality teaching pedagogy by the university faculty, implementation of Moodle learning management System (LMS) to enhance teaching-learning process. The AC ratified the  initiative to make students self-reliant and develop their creativity and skills during their stay in the university through  Earn While You Learn (EWYL) scheme wherein  hands-on experience will be given to students to develop them for future jobs and to encourage them for diversification of activities beyond the syllabus. EWYL has been introduced for meritorious and needy students enrolled in the Central University of Jammu. Further decision regarding Research internship with the aim at providing hands on training in advanced research tools, techniques, methodologies, equipments and learning various other aspects in pursuing quality research was also ratified. The AC ratified the introduction of NCC as  elective course  and Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala to act as a mentor for the dual degree Engineering Courses. Dr. Yashwant Singh, Registrar, presented 23 items in the meeting. Ratifying various items, the 15th AC also confirmed the minutes of the 14 meeting of Academic Council.
