New Delhi, Oct. 03: On Friday, India said Pakistan should be held responsible for the “grave” human rights abuses committed against innocent demonstrators in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
Large-scale protests have erupted across PoJK, with people demanding justice, basic rights, and an end to what they called long-standing repression.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, while addressing a weekly media briefing, said:
“We have seen reports of protests in various parts of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including accounts of Pakistani forces committing brutalities against civilians. These developments are the direct outcome of Pakistan’s oppressive policies and the systematic exploitation of resources from these illegally and forcibly occupied territories.”
He further stressed, “Pakistan must answer for its horrific human rights violations.”
