Jammu, June 9: Pakistan will greet Narendra Modi after he takes oath as Prime Minister on Sunday evening for a third consecutive term , equalling the record of India’s first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru.
Pakistan is the only country in the neighbourhood that has not congratulated Modi so far. India too has not invited Pakistan prime minister Shehbaz Sharif to his oath taking ceremony, while all other leaders of the neighbouring countries have been invited to the grand ceremony.
Pakistan’s prominent newspaper “ The News” quoted unnamed officials , saying that Pakistan will congratulate Modi after he is sworn in as PM of India.
It said ,” ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan will formally greet Narendra Modi after he takes the oath as prime minister of India for the consecutive third time.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced plans to form the next central government in India after forming a coalition with the National Democratic Alliance. The Indian president has formally invited Narendra Modi to take the oath as prime minister.

Modi will take the oath to become India’s chief executive for the third consecutive time on Sunday (today) evening. Arrangements have been underway in the Indian capital, New Delhi, to organise the oath-taking ceremony. Senior officials in Islamabad have said the Pakistani government will greet Modi after he takes the oath. The BJP-led electoral alliance, NDA, has secured 294 seats in the polls for Lok Sabha, while the opposition alliance — Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance — has surprised everyone by securing 234 seats in the general elections.”
