Jammu, Sept. 11: A major accident took place this afternoon when a truck coming down from the Bathindi top lost control and crashed into several vehicles before toppling outside Vidhata Nagar Lane No. 7, close to the Bathindi Police Station.
The accident caused chaos in the area, leaving one person injured and several motorbikes and cars crushed in the impact. Locals described the scene as traumatic, with shops damaged and debris scattered across the road.
The overturned truck is currently blocking the road, leading to severe traffic congestion in the area. Authorities are on site managing the situation.
Preliminary reports suggest that the truck’s brakes may have failed, though official confirmation is awaited.
Commuters are advised to avoid the Bathindi stretch near Vidhata Nagar until clearance work is completed.
