Srinagar, Feb. 08: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference President and MLA Handwara, Sajad Gani Lone, has strongly condemned the horrific killing of Shia worshippers at Imambargah Khadijat-ul-Kubra in Pakistan, where innocent people were targeted while offering Salah.
In a statement issued today, Sajad Lone said the attack was “deeply shocking, painful and enraging,” describing it as a brutal assault on humanity and the sanctity of faith.
“Targeting innocent worshippers inside a place of prayer is an unforgivable crime. Such acts of blind hatred have nothing to do with religion. Those who kill in the name of faith have no religion and no humanity,” he said.
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families and the Shia community, Sajad Lone emphasized that violence based on sectarian hatred only deepens divisions and fuels cycles of suffering.
“This barbarity is a reminder of the urgent need to stand united against extremism and sectarian violence in all its forms. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during this moment of immense grief,” he added.
Reiterating his commitment to peace and coexistence, Sajad Lone said that humanity, justice and unity must prevail over hate and intolerance.
“We stand firmly for peace, justice and unity. The world must speak with one voice against such crimes and ensure that perpetrators of sectarian violence are held accountable,” he said.
