Srinagar, April 19 The police have arrested a sarpanch on charges of raping a young girl in a village of Baramulla district on Wednesday following a complaint by a relative of the alleged victim.
The girl was allegedly raped by a Sarpanch under the jurisdiction of police station Dangiwacha Rafiabad.
The accused Sarpanch has been identified as Ali Mohammad Dar of Rawoocha Rafiabad . He was arrested after a written application was moved by the relatives of the victim .
A case under FIR no 26/ 2023 under section 376, 506,109 of Indian Penal code was registered in a local police station.
