State President BJP and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma today directed the officials of JMC (Jammu Municipal Coproration) to prepare a DPR (Detailed Project Report) and start works of Construction, repairs, renovations at Cremation Ground, Bhagwati Nagar near fourth bridge under Ward Number 14 of the Constituency.
He was accomapnied by JMC officials and people of the area.
Sat Sharma said , “The works will be taken up under the supervision of JMC and Tootian Bath Rooms for Ladies and Gents, Sheds, installation of a new gate and seating arrangement for visitors will be constructed under the same in order to provide assistance to the public who visit at the spot on Cremations. The total cost estimated for the works are calculated around Rupees 18 lakhs and the amount has been given by the him from his CDF (Constituency Development Fund) scheme”.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that the condition of the Shamshan Ghat was not upto the mark and many people also complained about the same. So, keeping in view the interests of public and keeping the place of utmost importance intact in the society, the works had to be taken up.
He also directed the concerned authorities to also prepare estimates for construction of a hall also in the premises of Cremation Ground and stated that any amount of extra fund required by the Corporation for the further Construction will also be given, if needed.
He also stated that such places hold a very religious importance in our culture and it should be our priority to keep such places in a good condition as people in bulk visit such places daily and it should be our duty to provide every type of assistance to public at such spots.
The BJP President said that works have been taken up in Shakti Nagar and Revenue Complex area Shamshan Ghats and the repairs and construction works of other Shamshan Ghats in Jammu West will also be taken up soon, in order to provide best possible assistance to the masses.
