Doda, November 14 : Senior DAP Sheikh Riaz Ahmed has expressed deep anguish over death of Executive Engineer PWD Doda Muhammad Rafiq Sheikh and two others in an accident near Assar on Batote – Kishtwar national highway.
He has expressed heartfelt condolences to the next of the kin of deceased and prayed for peace of departed souls.
He said that Executive Engineer was an upright and brilliant officer who meant business. “Since Muhammad Rafiq had assumed office as executive engineer PWD Doda, things were moving in right directions. His death is a great loss to the department in general and people of Doda in particular,” Riaz added.
The DAP leader asked Lieutenant Governor to look into the causes of frequent accidents in Chenab valley and plugin the loopholes accordingly. “Thousands of people have lost ther lives in accidents in Chenab valley but chairs of people at the helm of affairs are not shaking,” he said, adding, “It look like lives of people of Chenab valley don’t matter. We will not keep mum anymore untill things start moving in right directions.”
