Refutes incomplete, one-sided news item on cloudburst tragedy

RAMBAN, NOVEMBER 19: District Administration Ramban has strongly refuted a news item published in a local daily on November 14 regarding Dharmkund Cloudburst, terming it an incomplete and one-sided narrative, lacking proper ground truthing and factual verification.
While refuting the news item, the Administration said that the in the news item several critical facts have been overlooked, leading to a misleading portrayal of the situation.
“Contrary to the claims made in the news, all families affected by the cloudburst and flash-floods on April 20, 2025 in Dharmkund, Tehsil Ramban, have been provided due relief and compensation strictly as per SDRF norms”, the Administration said. “Immediately after the incident, the District Administration Ramban extended comprehensive support, temporary shelter, food, water, medical care, and other essential logistics”.
The Administration undertook timely damage assessments, processed cases under SDRF guidelines, and released compensation accordingly. Every affected household received the assistance mandated under SDRF provisions. The district administration said that constructive feedback is always welcomed, however, reports published without verification can create unnecessary panic and undermine the hard work of officials who responded promptly and diligently during the disaster.
The administration further reiterates that relief as per SDRF norms has been provided to the cloudburst affected families.
