Bandipora, April 8: Mechanical, Irrigation and Flood control department in Sumbal area of Bandipora district seems to be in a total mess as the tug of war is going between engineers of the department.
As on one side the executive engineer of the department has levelled allegations of manhandling against his two subordinates, on the other hand his subordinates have refuted everything.
The executive engineer Giasuddin Shah has gone on protest leave following the alleged altercation with his junior officers which has further aggravated the situation. He has levelled allegations of vandalisation against junior officers and has demanded action against them.
But assistant executive engineer Asif Ali has refuted all his allegations and said that whatever has happened in the office has been done by the executive engineer himself.
Presenting his point of view, Asif Ali said that during the course of discussion with the officer, he was showered with choicest abuses, attacked and injured. “I did nothing whereas Shah has put all blame on me of doing what he has done,” he said.
“I have moved a complaint before the Police Station concerned for registration of an FIR against the executive engineer,” he said.
Earlier in the day, executive engineer wrote a letter to the Superintending Engineer alleging manhandling by two of his subordinates assistant executive engineer Sumbal, Asif Ali and AE Reyaz Ahmad Bhat.
“As already communicated, the AEE concerned is very arrogant and mischievous. Also a number of service books which were lying on my table have been damaged by these two officers. In light of above there is no option left with undersigned to proceed on protest leave from today. Until and unless the Asif Ali and Riyaz Ahmad Bhat will not be punished I will not be in a position to perform my duties,” the letter reads.
Besides, Chief Engineer, Deputy Commissioner and SDM concerned, a copy of letter has been sent to SHO police station Sumbal alleging off & on harassment & misbehaviour by the AEE in-question & declaring the latter as a threat to the life of former.
