Jammu, April 26: Atleast 10 security force personnel and a civilian were killed when Maoists carried out an Intensive Explosive Device (IED) attack in Chattisgarh’s Dantewada area today.
The terror attack happened in Aranpur area of Dantewada in south Chhattisgarh.
Speaking to reporters, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel said, “There is such information with us. It is very saddening. My condolences to the bereaved families. This fight is in its last stage. Naxals won’t be spared.”
Police officials in Raipur said that a team of District Reserve Guard (DRG) had gone for a ant-naxal operation after receiving specific information of presence of naxals in the area. “The team was returning to their headquarters when an IED, planted by the naxals, was blown up in which 11 people including 10 DRG men were killed.
Dantewada is one of the most Naxal affected areas in Chhattisgarh and in the past also Maoists have carried out the attack killing security personnel.
