Kashmir will experience rain and  snow  from Thursday to Saturday  and this may cause  disruption in traffic on Jammu- Srinagar national highway , warned an advisory issued by the Divisional Commissioner , Kashmir’s office on  Wednesday.

The advisory sad that a fresh Western Disturbance (WD) is affecting Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas and most likely to affect the state from March 1, morning to March 3.

“Under the influence of this system, moderate rain/snow is expected at widespread places of Jammu, Kashmir & Moderate snowfall in Ladakh, mainly in Kargil district,” the advisory said.

It said the higher reaches of Kashmir and Jammu most likely to receive moderate to heavy rain/snow. “Anantnag, Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama and Budgam districts will most likely receive heavy rain / snow,” it said.

This may lead to disruption of surface transportation mainly (National Highway), it  said .
