While speaking in a programme organised by Hotel & Restaurant Association ,Katra for having meaningful discussion with regard to development of Katra Town particularly keeping in view of its being developed as Iconic City wherein the officers of its main implementing agencies including Director Local Bodies Sushma Chauhan,Addl.Chief Executive Officer SMVD Shrine Board Anshul Garg,CEO Katra Development Authority Jagdish Mehra, CEO Muncipal Committee Katra Chalotra,besides President Hotel Association Rakesh Wazir,Chairman Shyam Lal Kesar among others were prominently present,Ms.Sushma Chauhan said that every effort would be made to develop Katra as cleanest city with proper planning and steps required for that will be taken at the earliest.
She further said that when Katra has been declared as Iconic city and it will be developed as real planned beautiful town so that pilgrims coming from every nook & corner of India, while going back home take away a good message.
Mr.Garg while speaking on the occasion asked all stake holders for giving their suggestions so that while planning the things each and every suggestion be in-corporated and may find place in that planning and its implementation and further elaborated that it is very important to have a proper feed back so that the work which is going to be implemented may have proper inputs in it and Katra Vaishnodevi be developed as a beautiful planned place keeping in view the future influx of pilgrims in mind.
Rakesh Wazir while speaking on the occasion said that more than one crore pilgrims visits Vaishnodevi ji from every nook and corner of India and abroad while visiting they do not know which area belongs to which agency whether Katra Development Authority, Municipal committee or Shrine Board and fault on part of any agency would lead to image deteriotation of all agencies and a bad name to Katra Vaishnodevi as a whole and need of the hour is this that consolidated efforts be made with right planning among all stake holders including local people particularly when huge amount is going to be spent on this destination.
He while positively commenting on the recent move of the Muncipal Committee ,Katra wherein they have started picking of garbage from door step of each & every commercial & domestic establishment of Katra on subsidized chargeable basis said that though move is good but it may not become a mandatorily paid fee ir-respective of work and so it should remain on work done basis with no work no payment model.
Mr.Kesar while citing the examples of Chandigarh,Banglore Airport Road, Darbar Sahib Amritsar and other developed places in India and abroad said that a complete study should be done before implementing the things so that when development is going to take place and money is being spent,it should be utilized in a proper way and millions & millions of people take home a good message.
The officers present in the meeting listened the delegates patiently and assured that every suggestion will find place in the planning and implementation of the Iconic project and Ms.Chauhan while going further assured that no amount be charged as fee or regular amount for taking garbage from the door steps and whatever would be charged will be against work done basis and that too on concessional rates and further assured that when Katra has been declared as iconic city it planning , development and beautification should be done keeping in view the importance and asthetics of the place in mind and hopefully will become iconic destination in real sénce also.
The meeting among others was attended by Association’s Sr.Vice President Virender Kesar,Gen.Secretary Adv.Kuldeep Dubey,Vice President Meena Wazir,Secreatry Parbhat Singh etc.
