Srinagar October 18: Passing-out-Cum Attestation Parade of 16th Basic Recruitment Training Course of constables was held at Subsidiary Training Centre, Sheeri Baramulla today. Hon’ble Lt. Governor J&K Shri Manoj Sinha who was the chief guest on the occasion inspected the Parade and took the salute. Five hundred and ten recruit constables passed out after completing their basic recruit training which commenced in November 2022.

Gillani, Shri M K Sinha, & Shri Vijay Kumar, IGP CIV/Hqrs/Traffic J&K Shri B S Tuti, DIG NKR Shri Vivek Gupta, DIG IRP Kashmir Shri Abdul Qayoom, DC Baramulla Dr Syed Sehrish Asghar, SSP Baramulla Shri Amod Ashok Nagpure, Principal STC Sheeri Shri Majid Malik, AIsG of PHQ, retired and serving senior police/civil officers, army and CAPF officers, parents/relatives of the trainees, civil society members were present on the occasion.

Hon’ble LG Shri Manoj Sinha along with other dignitaries paid rich tributes to the martyr DySP M Himayun Muzzammil Bhat and other martyrs who attained martyrdom in the line of duty for the nation.

In his welcome speech, the DGP J&K thanked Hon’ble Lt Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha, and other dignitaries for gracing the event. He complimented the pass outs for undergoing over eleven months basic recruitment training successfully. He congratulated the award winning Jawans and also the families and relatives of passing out constables. He said that this batch has undergone the latest methods of training including the Mission Karamyogi programme which is being conducted under the directions of BPR&D, MHA. He complimented the Principal, his staff, both indoor and outdoor for imparting excellent training schedules to the trainees.

He expressed his pleasure over the recent survey & evaluation of work for different departments conducted by the Capacity Building Commission in which the Commission has appreciated the work of Jammu and Kashmir Police. Congratulating the JK Police Pariwar, the DGP said that efforts & commitment of JKP has been acknowledged by one & all in the nation. He paid rich tributes to the fallen heroes of Jammu and Kashmir Police who have been part of the mission peace and sacrificed their lives for the cause.

DGP said that training is important for police personnel and added that this year alone around 14 thousands personnel have been imparted different training courses. He said that around 1800 personnel have been provided commando training and are deputed at operation and security duty at different places of J&K. He said that to augment the investigation resources of the force around 799 police personnel have been provided investigation skill training besides cyber handling crime training have been given to 2500 personnel.

The DGP said that with the joint efforts of Jammu and Kashmir Police and other Security forces peace is returning to Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and Hon’ble Lt Governor J&K Shri Manoj Sinha have time and again appreciated and acknowledged the work of the force which he said has acted as a morale booster in fighting the enemies of peace. The DGP said that J&K Police has started Operation Capacity Building and under this, 21 police stations have been further strengthened and provided with latest gadgets and other facilities to deal with the remaining terrorism. 22 more police stations will be covered under this programme to ensure remaining terrorism is eliminated, he added.

Referring to the welfare measures, the DGP said that number of welfare initiatives have been taken for the police personnel as also for the SPOs. With regard to the promotions, the DGP said that around 4000 police personnel have been promoted at different ranks this year so far and added that a few days earlier 27 JKPS officers were inducted into IPS, which itself is a record. He thanked the J & K administration for approving and supporting various proposals of Jammu and Kashmir police. Two Border battalions and two Women battalions were recruited in the recent past which he said would respectively strengthen the security at borders and protect the rights of women.

Principal of the STC Sheeri Shri Majid Malik in his address highlighted the profile of the passing out recruit constables and also gave a brief about the training conducted for them. He also gave a resume of the development works completed in the training center campus.

On this occasion recruit Constable Gh. Mohammad No 1618/Bla was declared all-round best. He was given on spot Out of Turn promotion to the rank of Selection Grade Constable. Recruit Constable Syed Mujtaba No. 491/Doda was declared 2nd all round best and Recruit Constable Mohit Kumar No. 699/IRP 7th Bn was adjudged 3rd all round best. Recruit Constable Vasu Sharam No 1039/Rajouri bagged first position in Indoor, and recruit Constable Gotam Lal No 1200/Rajouri bagged first position in Outdoor. Recruit Constable Ishfaq Nazir and lady recruit Constable Yukta Samotra 736/IRP 15th Bn shared first position in Range classification. Recruit Constable Mohit Kumar No. 699/ IRP 7th Bn was parade commander on the occasion while Recruit Constable Tabish Ramzan No 455 was the 2nd parade commander.
