April 12, 2023: 17th Management Development Programme (MDP) organised by Stephens college for nursing with support of Academy of Hospital Administration (AHA).
A two day State Level Management Development Programme of doctors and Nursing Professionals was organised at the Stephens college for nursing today in association with the Academy of Hospital Administration, India. Dr. Yashpal Sharma Director (Coord) New Medical Colleges, Paramedical & Nursing colleges J&K (National President AHA India) was the Chief Guest on the occasion along with Mr Kamal Saini Chairman Stephens college for nursing.

Speaking on the occasion, the Dr. Yashpal Sharma dwelled on the importance of conducting such programmes which enhance the management capabilities of all healthcare professionals and stressed that since healthcare has become a very demanding profession, such programmes become very important to enhance the skill-set of healthcare professionals to offer the best possible patient care besides maintaining highest standards of professionalism.
He further stressed that such conferences are helpful in pooling the wisdom of the many branches of healthcare which serve as guiding beacons for adopting best practice in every field. He also cited the examples of states like Kerala which have successfully achieved self sufficiency in healthcare and no longer depend on procuring medicines and other health related equipments from outside sources. He also stressed upon the ethical and legal issues involved in the profession and also the importance of public relations in Hospital and healthcare institutions. He further exhorted the healthcare professionals to focus on quality assurances and other challenges in management of clinical and emergency services.
He further suggested that all healthcare professionals should invest their time to re-learn the importance of communication and soft skill which has assumed critical importance in today’s healthcare scenario.
