Inspector-General of Police Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar told India Today TV that in the ongoing encounter “two unidentified militants have been killed so far”.
According to reports, a joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Army’s 55 Rashtriya Rifles and the CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Bandzoo.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering an encounter.
The operation is still underway.
