In one more strike on drug peddling in the town, surprise raids were conducted by Reasi Police which lead to arrest of seven offenders alongwith Narcotics, market price worth Rupees three lacs and cash proceeds of drug crime ₹ 3,36,000, a fine balance for weighing costliest banned drugs along with other incriminating evidences.
During intervening night of 12/13th of July an information through reliable sources received at Police Station Reasi that most notorious drug peddler of Reasi Shoib Magray S/O Mohd sagar R/O ward no 7 who is involved in sale & purchase of narcotics substance Heroine (chitta) to the younger generation, is in possession of the banned drugs. Without losing any time, Reasi Police immediately planned & conducted raids against drug peddler in his house, and recovered Heroine along with ₹336000 Cash (drug money), which was collected by selling of Narcotics to the youth of Reasi, electronics weighing balance, Syringes for injecting drugs, foil papers for burning & inhaling smoke of the banned drug and other material used in drug abuse from from possession Shoaib Magrey.
Accused Shoib was arrested in FIR no 144/2021 U/S 8, 21, 22 NDPS Act Police Station Reasi.
During further investigation accused Shoaib revealed his associates involved in business of selling, purchasing & consumption of Narcotics in Reasi Town. On this disclosure Police teams of conducted further multiple raids against drug abusers and lead to the of arrests of 6 more accused namely
Shahid Magrey S/O Mohd Sagar R/O Ward No. 7 Reasi, Irfan Iqbal S/O Mohd Iqbal Wani R/O Ward No. 7 Reasi, Rufu S/O Mohd Iqbal Mir R/O Ward No. 7 Reasi, Manik Sharma S/O Yashpal Sharma R/O Ward No. 1 Reasi, Arun Sharma S/O Parshotam Sharma R/O Ward No. 3 Reasi and Sajad Ahmed S/O Abdul Aziz R/O Ward No. 8 Reasi & recoveries of banned drugs from their possession were legally seized as per laid down under law. Further investigation of the case will explore the more members of this racket in & around the town including the chain of source & other consumers in the town.
“EK YUDH NASHE KE VIRUDH” is a drive against drug abuse launched by Reasi Police in which community of the town has started participating by sharing valuable information. Yudh against drugs abuse is stretching to every nook and corner of the jurisdiction. Banned Drugs are being seized, lahan and illegal distilleries are being destroyed and illegal & Illicit liquor being seized.
Under the drive team Reasi led by SSP Reasi Sh Shailender Singh registered 91 Case FIRs against 119 offenders in last 11 weeks.
Wave against drugs abuse is picking up every day with the help of Peoples of Reasi particularly particularly victim families. Citizens are appreciating the efforts of team Reasi in taking action against drug peddlers & illicit liquor vendors on such a large scale.
