All the three militants trapped in an encounter in Umarabad locality on the outskirts of Srinagar have been killed after more than 18 hour gunfight.
The police were careful in avoiding the collateral damage . That made the things complex and delayed the conclusion of the gunfight.
DGP Dilbag Singh complimented security for the success and said the this year- end encounter and elimination of militants showed that the security forces have complete supremacy . And, he added, militants and their supporters should bear in mind that they have no option but to surrender or face consequences in encounters.
“ Our anti- terrorism operations will continue and we will not rest till militancy is wiped out of J&K,” the police chief said.
