Jammu, May 26: The police recovered 300 kg of poppy straw at Jakheni naka on National Highway near Udhampur from narcotic smuggler
Official sources said that police party from Police Station Udhampur Udhampur led Ragibhir singh SHO under the supervision of SSP Udhampur apprehended two drug peddlers and seized 300 kg of poppy straw from their possession.
During a routine checking, police team stopped one truck for checking at Jakheni naka on Highway. During search of the vehicle, 300 kg of poppy straw was recovered from it. Police also arrested two accused . Truck was onway to Punjab from kadhmir.
A case was registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation is underway.
