With the elimination of seven terrorists including Ansar Ghajwat-ul-Hind ( AGUH) top commander Imtiyaz Shah , the Jammu and Kashmir along with the army  scripted  yet another success story in 2021  with the total number of terrorist killed  has risen to 31  this year so far.

In a majority of  encounters in the Kashmir Valley,  not only the Jammu and Kashmir police gathered the inputs but also fought the terrorists from the front. “ This has been our endeavour and we have succeeded in it as well by targeting the terrorists without causing any collateral damage. The overnight’s  encounters that concluded on Friday bear a testimony to this ,” Director General of Police Dilbag Singh said about the gunfights that  had erupted after the militants fired at the police party and the  army personnel in Shopian and  Tral  areas of Shopian and Awantipore police districts . The police moved cautiously and made all efforts to persuade the terrorists to surrender.

Younger brother of Imtiyaz and an elderly person were sent to the mosque to get him out alive. Despite the gun fight, there was no damage to the place of worship.

Four army personnel were injured in the encounters.

The army’s Chinar Corps had tweeted on Thursday night that the operations were launched on the specific inputs generated by Jammu and Kashmir police.

During this year , 31 terrorists have been killed, a majority of them-28- from south Kashmir . In the intensified anti-terrorism operations , the police  and the army eliminated three terrorists in north Kashmir as well

Sixteen terrorists were killed in Shopian,  followed by five in police district of Awantipora, four in Anantnag  and three in Pulwama in south Kashmir. In north Kashmir two terrorists were eliminated in Baramulla and one in police district of Sopore.

Besides , the police  were able to bust seven terror modules and 138  over ground  workers (OGWs) of the terrorist groups were arrested . The overground workers are like oxygen to terrorism in Kashmir. Their arrest chokes terrorism .
