The number of novel coronavirus cases in India rose to 1,637 on Wednesday, including 1,466 active cases and 38 deaths, according to the figures released by the Union health ministry. The US death toll, which has now touched 3,400, is more than the nearly 3,000 people killed in the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. Close to 175,000 have been infected across the US.

The coronavirus pandemic has infected more than 800,000 people all over the world, with the global death toll crossing 40,000. The total number of deaths in the US with the 3,400 deaths from Covid-19 has surpassed China’s official toll of 3,305. Close to 175,000 have been infected across the United States. The US, Italy, Spain, China and Germany are now the five most affected countries in terms of number of confirmed cases.

In India, too, the number of novel coronavirus cases continue to climb. According to the Union health ministry, there are 1,637 Covid-19 patients in the country which include 1,466 active cases and 38 deaths, as on the morning of April 1.

4 more test positive for Covid-19 in Guwahati, all attended Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi

Four more people have been tested positive for Covid-19 in Guwahati, taking the total number of infected people in Assam to 5. All four had attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi, said officials.
