Week-long celebration for 66th Cooperative Week commenced here today.
The theme of this year’s celebration is “Role of Cooperatives in new India”.
The programme is being held under the guidance of Secretary Cooperatives Department, Abdul Majid Bhat and Registrar, Cooperative Societies, J&K Asif Hamid Khan.
Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies, Jammu, Kusum Bhadial-the chief guest at the inaugural event, highlighted the need to revive defunct Cooperatives besides streamlining of business of functional Cooperative Societies.
The representatives of Cooperative Societies highlighted the progress and problems of Cooperative Sector seeking measures for redressal.
The event was attended by senior co-operators, management of various Cooperative Societies, departmental officials and individuals.
