While hailing Operation Sindoor , the military action against terrorists and their patrons across the border , Prime Minister Narendra Modi that it has shown that there is no place for the terrorists and the enemies of India to hide and stay safe.
In his speech at Cholapuram , to honour the Tamil Emperor Rajendra Chola on Sunday , Prime Minister declared : “ Recently , during Operation Sindoor , the world has seen how India responds if someone attacks India’s security and sovereignty, “ and underlined that the Operation Sindoor has “ shown that no place is safe for India’s enemies or terrorists.”
These words, based on the success of Operation Sindoor, resonated all across the world. Operation Sindoor is now an all-time doctrine against terrorism. This has given ideas to the world, especially those targeted by terrorism, that how this menace needs to be tackled. This is not all about hitting the terror targets, but killing the spirit of planning of anti-India designs anywhere in the world.
No other place or people can appreciate it better than Jammu and Kashmir. This enemies of the nation, whether from outside or within, used this place a as a playfield to further their nefarious designs. It has been happening since 1947, but more pronouncedly since 1989-1990, when terrorism visited doorsteps of the people. Pakistan sponsored terrorism, executed at a very low cost, made the people to bleed. This was a direct challenge to the Indian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Until Operation Sindoor was launched in the intervening night of May 6 and 7 to avenge the mass killings of Pahalgam on April 22, there was a lot of confusion about the situation and the response. Though the world had seen Modi government’s resolve in hitting back at the perpetrators and backers of terrorism with ruthlessness, Pakistan misread the situation .That made it to mount mounted terror attack in Pahalgam, a beautiful and one of the most popular tourist resorts in Kashmir. This was an attempt to inflict multiple wounds on Kashmir and the rest of the country.
The Operation Sindoor clarified all doubts: India had zero tolerance of terrorism, irrespective of the fact who and where it was staged. The messaging was clear that India will not stop at any physical or psychological boundaries to unleash punitive action against terrorists and their backers. Pakistan was punished and the world saw it with its eyes wide open.
Perhaps for the first time in its nearly 36-year old history of turbulences, the people in Jammu and Kashmir saw some decisive military action against Pakistan that had been playing its games against India on their soil. Their confusion also dissipated after the launch of Operation Sindoor. They were perturbed by the fact that Pahalgam incident happened in Kashmir, which black brushed its image and ethos. They said enough is enough with their spontaneous protests .They were in the forefront in demanding action against terrorists and those controlling them.
This was also for the first time that the people of Kashmir had sought such an action, and expected the government of India to act. Kashmir stood as one with the rest of the country in making such a demand. It was the indigenous authorization from place and people, which in some of the quarters continued to be viewed different from the Indian national ethos. This fact should have been played out and appreciated, but it was not as much.
Kashmir was happy that the Centre had acted against terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir, as per their demand and wishes. This would help in removing the stigma of Pahalgam attack. On larger canvas, Kashmir had asked for a decisive action against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism on a permanent basis with no ifs and buts attached to it.
Operation Sindoor did that exactly. They don’t want any repeat of Pahalgam, Pulwama or Uri. They are one with the nation.
In most of our analysis and claims, we are looking at the messaging that Operation Sindoor delivered to the world: India will go all out against terrorists in any corner of the planet; no double-standards on terrorism will be tolerated and the Indian soil is sacred and it will not be allowed to be spoiled by the acts of terror, and those who attempt to do will be punished to the last corner of the world. But, within the nation, Kashmir has also delivered a message that Operation Sindoor though prompted by unfortunate incident at Pahalgam, is the doctrine the script was written by Kashmir with its protests after April 22nd. Now when the operation has taken place, their belief in the Indian nation has grown sky high
