Jammu, 2025 — The American Oncology Institute (AOI) recently hosted a highly impactful medical conference focused on gallbladder cancer (GBC), highlighting the latest advancements and best practices in its management. The event brought together leading oncologists, surgeons, and healthcare professionals from across the region for a day of knowledge-sharing and discussion.
Inauguration Ceremony:
The event commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by an inaugural address by Chief Guest Shri Sham Lal Sharma Ji, MLA (North) & Dr Pavan Malhotra (Director Principal ASCOMS Hospital)Guest of Honour , who lauded the institute’s dedication to improving cancer care in Jammu and Kashmir.
Expert Sessions:
Esteemed faculty members delivered insightful lectures on various aspects of gallbladder cancer:
Dr. Avinash Rajra, Consultant – Surgical Oncology, discussed surgical strategies and outcomes.
Dr. Nadeem Showket, Consultant – Medical Oncology, highlighted systemic therapies and recent advances in chemotherapy.
Dr. Deepak Abrol, Senior Consultant – Radiation Oncology, emphasized the evolving role of radiation in multimodal treatment approaches.
Panel Discussion:
A stimulating panel session on “Controversies in Gallbladder Cancer Management” provided a platform for debate and collaborative thinking, enhancing mutual understanding among specialists.

The conference was attended by 50 doctors from various medical institutions, reflecting a robust interest in academic oncology and collaborative growth.
