Jammu, November 4: The University of Jammu today announced the commencement of Display Your Talent (DYT) – Zonals 2025, a vibrant series of youth festivals organized by the Department of Students Welfare (DSW) with the release of poster. Conceptualized under the visionary leadership of Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, the initiative, a cornerstone of the University’s cultural calendar, provides students from all affiliated colleges, teaching departments, and offsite campuses an opportunity to showcase their creativity and artistic excellence.
‘Display Your Talent’ is an annual mega event featuring competitions in music, dance, theatre, fine arts, and literary activities. Winners of these events not only earn cultural recognition but also represent the University in Inter-University North Zone and National Youth Festivals organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Achievements in DYT also carry weightage for admission to postgraduate programmes under the University’s cultural category.
To promote inclusivity and greater student participation from remote and far-flung areas, Prof. Rai conceptualized the decentralization of the event into five zones — Tawi, Devika, Ravi, Pir Panjal, and Chenab. This year, the zonal events are being hosted by Government College for Women, Parade; Udhampur Campus, University of Jammu; Kathua Campus, University of Jammu; Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu; and Government Post Graduate College, Rajouri.
The first zonal event will commence on November 06, 2025 at Government College for Women, Parade, and the remaining zones will follow through November and December 2025. The Inter-Zonal Display Your Talent will be held in mid-December at the University of Jammu, where winners from all zones will come together to exhibit their talent and compete for top honors.
Congratulating the Rectors and Principals of the respective host institutions, Prof. Rai lauded their efforts in nurturing creativity, teamwork, and cultural awareness among students. He emphasized that such events not only celebrate artistic expression but also foster confidence, leadership, and a sense of belonging among the youth.
The series of events is being conceived, planned, and coordinated by the DSW team led by Prof. Prakash Antahal (Dean Students Welfare), Prof. Monika Chadha (Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee), Prof. Sarika Manhas (Co-Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee), Dr. Pritam Singh (Associate Dean SW), Dr. Shallu Sharma and Dr. A.R.
