The 50th Victory Day celebrated by Chenab Brigade of Tiger Division in remembrance of resounding victory over Pakistan in the Chenab Enclave during 1971 Indo-Pak conflict. It was 50 years ago, that the brave hearts of the Chenab Brigade fought a decisive battle with highest degree of valour, to capture enemy Chenab Enclave on the Western Front in 1971 Indo – Pak War. The sacrifices of gallant men of the Army in 1971 War is etched into the annals of history of Independent India as one of the meticulously planned and swiftly executed successful operations.
The Victory Trophy of the Chenab Brigade, commemorating Golden Jubilee of this historic feat was inaugurated by the senior most veteran officer present. The day has a unique significance for all ranks of the Chenab Brigade as the enemy’s Chenab Enclave was overrun by Indian Army in just over two days there by creating an everlasting legacy. The Operation finds a special mention in the history of the Armed Forces, for its gallant contribution in preserving the sovereignty and integrity of our Nation.
The occasion was celebrated with a sense of pride and immense vividness which was attended by veterans of the 1971 War with an aim to motivate the present rank and file to achieve ever greater success and glory in future.
