Jammu, March 22: ABVP has been conducting blood donation camps across the UT in general and JU Campus in particular from the past 40 years.
Following the same ABVP Jammu University Organised a Blood Donation and Free Medical Camp on Trimurti Balidan Divas.
The program started with illumination of the sacred lamp by the Honourable Chief guest Mr. Ajay Sharma, SP Jammu (South) and Ms. Akshi Billowria, JK ABVP State Secretary.
The program proceeded with the welcome address by Sahil Choudhary, ABVP President, Jammu University. Choudhary, while making his remarks said that “We are honoured to organise this blood donation and free medical camp on Trimurti Balidan Divas”. He further added that, “This initiative embodies the spirit of service and social responsibility that young people hold dear. Donating blood is a simple but pious act that can save lives, and we encourage students and the community to participate actively in such events.”
While speaking on the occasion the Honourable Chief guest S.P Ajay Sharma praised the initiative of ABVP on the occasion of Trimurti Balidan . He emphasised on the capability of youth and motivated the youth to engage themselves in such activities. He also highlighted the issue of drug abuse among the youth. He further quoted that, “instead of dying for the nation, we should start living for the nation”.
Further, ABVP State Secretary, Akshi Billowria in her remarks said that this event of blood donation has been organised by ABVP, JU Unit who have been doing so for the past 40 years. She added that, “the motive of this blood donation camp is to pay tribute to the martyrs as well the freedom fighters who have given their lives for the nation”.
Ananya Rathore, Secretary ABVP JU concluded the programme with a vote of thanks. It is pertinent to mention here that around 200 students registered themselves as the volunteers for the blood donation camp.
Around 400 immunity booster kits were distributed among the students and teaching staff as well as non teaching employees.
