Jammu: In order to provide best possible facilities in all aspects to the pilgrims of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra, Deputy Mayor Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria chaired a meeting of top officials of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC). The meeting was attended by the Chairmen of standing committee- Arun Khanna, Subhash Sharma, Gopal Gupta, Commissioner JMC Rahul Yadav and other officials of JMC. Deputy Mayor Jammu Baldev Singh Billawaria asked the entire team for an extensive tour of Geeta Bhawan, Ram Mandir & other lodging stations where the saadhu and other pilgrims will stay during the holy Amarnath Yatra. During the meeting, Deputy Mayor Jammu took review of the preparations being undertaken by the Municipal Corporation for the Holy Yatra at various lodging stations. Deputy Mayor Jammu mentioned that he will personally take review of the all the arrangements of the upcoming holy Amarnath Yatra and is reviewing all the basic services being provided there by JMC whether it’s of sanitation, proper water supply or the maintenance of the building and other things which can be provided by the Jammu municipal corporation. Deputy Mayor Jammu directed the corporation officials to maintain the cleanliness of the langars set up in the Yatri Camp and also asked the langar committees to deploy cleaning staff there regularly.
Deputy Mayor Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria said that every possible effort in collaboration with District Administration is being made by the JMC to make this year’s Shri Amarnath really a “Swastham Yatra” in all aspects.
Deputy Mayor Jammu apprised that additional men & machinery have already been deployed by the JMC in way of Safai sathies, garbage lifting vehicles, prefabricated toilets as well as other allied amenities at various locations where the pilgrims/sadhus are going to stay during the holy Yatra.
Deputy Mayor Baldev Singh Billawaria also appealed to the general public, Business communities & prominent citizens of Jammu to come forward and cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation to make Shri Amarnath Yatra – 2023 really a Swastham, remarkable & successful one.
Deputy Mayor, Jammu appealed to the pilgrims to say no to plastic use as plastic bags are a threat to our environment and kindly eliminate plastic, also while travelling.
