DC Vishesh Paul Mahajan appreciates the noble gesture

Doda, May 21: In its endeavour to work for the people of Jammu and Kashmir especially of Chenab valley, Ahmed Foundation in collaboration with district administration Doda conducted a free eye check-up and treatment camp at Associated Hospital GMC Doda today.

The camp was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan in presence of SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom and chairman and founder of Ahmed Foundation Masood Ahmed Sheikh.

Renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Ashok Sharma alongwith his team and department of ophthalmology AH GMC Doda provided free check-up and treatment to the dozens of people who had gathered to get benefitted from this camp which was first of its kind in Doda.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan appreciated the efforts of Ahmad Foundation for organising free checkup and treatment camp. He reiterated that better and quality health care in the district is the prime objective of the district administration and GMC Doda and Health department is making all their efforts to meet the expectations of the people.

He urged the public to register for and take benefit of all the healthcare schemes like PMJAY- SEHAT, JSSK, RKSK, Universal Immunization programme, JSY, NSSK and keep themselves and their family healthy while beating the financial hardships through the healthcare schemes of the government.

Expressing his views on organising this camp, Masood Ahmed Sheikh, whose father is blind for the last 60 years when he was still in schools, said that aim of his life is to provide treatment to those who can’t afford it. “We are witness to the sufferings of our father who didn’t get treatment when he required and lost his eye sight. We don’t want anyone to go through the same misery which we have faced,” Sheikh said.

“Those who can’t afford treatment, we will provide them the same free of cost. If treatment is not available at local level, we can take them to any place where they can get the same,” the Ahmed Foundation chairman said.
