Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a message to Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, congratulated him on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of India, describing the occasion as a valuable opportunity to further deepen and expand the longstanding and comprehensive relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of India. He emphasized that the deep historical, cultural, civilizational, and people-to-people ties between the two nations undoubtedly constitute a valuable asset for charting brighter prospects in bilateral relations based on shared interests. Emphasizing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s determination to further strengthen comprehensive relations with the Republic of India, President Pezeshkian added that the Islamic Republic of Iran stands ready, in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect and by leveraging the broad existing potential, to take more effective steps toward consolidating relations between the two countries and advancing the common interests of the two peoples. In his message, Dr. Pezeshkian also prayed to Almighty God for the prosperity, progress, welfare, and ever-increasing happiness of India, as well as for the further strengthening and flourishing of the longstanding relations between the two countries.
