Jammu, July 13:

State President, Apni Trade Union, Ajaz Kazmi today appealed Lt. Governor J&K Manoj Sinha and Divisional administrations to assess the losses and damages that occurred due to heavy rains and floods to the property worth lakhs to the people and business fraternity.

The main victim of these floods triggered due to heavy rains became the business fraternity who suffered heavy losses as these heavy rains entered their shops and other business establishments and caused heavy damage to them which is a matter of serious concern.

In a statement, Kazmi said that losses should be assessed by the authorities at the earliest by assessment teams and usual compensation should be given to the people and businessmen class who suffered losses and damage due to flash floods triggered by rains.

Kazmi said many shopkeepers including electrical stores, grocery shops etc., have suffered heavy loss and damage due to the heavy floods caused due to heavy rains which need to be assessed and compensated suitably as the business fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir is already in shambles due to continuous Covid-19 pandemic that has been looming large for last more than one year.

Kazmi said compensation to the poor business fraternity will surely help them to put their derailed business back on rails as well help them to eke out their living that is the need of the hour.
