The authorities have sounded an “Alert” due to emergent situation at Salal Dam arising out of “excessive Silt”
According to Salal Dam officials , “EMERGENT situation has arisen due to heavy rain and Excessive silt in the reservoir of Salal Dam which is beyond permissible level. In view of the above the flushing of Dam Reservoir which was scheduled on 22/08/2020 is being preponed. DAM GATED WILL BE OPENED today i.e 21/08/2020 at 2:30 pm onwards.”
The general public is cautioned to not go close to the river up and downstraem Chenab river.
