Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar Thursday said that a police team led by a DSP rank officer from Kashmir has gone to Rajouri to complete legal formalities with regard to the missing of three Rajouri persons.

“The Rajouri families filed a missing report and since then we are trying to evaluate the case through all technical evidences. We have taken the DNA samples of three ‘terrorists’ killed in Shopian encounter which will be sent to Central Laboratory to ascertain the facts,” Kumar said on the sidelines of full dress rehearsal ahead of 15 August celebrations at SK Stadium Srinagar.

Pertinently, those who have gone missing are 18 year old Abrar Ahmed Khan son of Bagha Khan, 26 year old Imtiyaz Hussain son of Sabir Hussain, both residents of Dhar Sakri of Tehsil Qotranka of Rajouri and 21 year old Abrar Ahmed son of Muhammad Yousuf of Tarkasi village of same Tehsil. Families of these deceased persons have claimed that those killed in the Amshipora Shopian encounter are these missing youth.

IGP Vijay Kumar said that they are looking at two aspects. “One is matching DNA samples and another is to investigate whether these 3 persons who had come from Rajouri were in contact with local militants are not. We will examine all the technical evidence that we have,” he said.
