‘We have lost an intellectual, a scholar and a spiritual leader today’

Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Thursday expressed deep shock and grief over the demise of renowned Islamic scholar and spiritual leader Maulana Wahiduddin Khan who breathed his last at Delhi’s Apollo Hospital today.

In a condolence message issued here, Bukhari said Maulana Wahiduddin Khan will always be remembered as a stalwart Islamic scholar who worked primarily for communal harmony and clearing doubts about Islam.

“He had strong hold on various Islamic sciences and modern philosophies, besides his profound services to Islam and propagation of communal harmony in the country that won him Padma Vibhushan,” he said.

He prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed his solidarity with the bereaved family, friends and his devotees.
