Srinagar, August 4: Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has drawn attention of the UT administration to the devastation caused by cloud burst in Kangan in Ganderbal district on Sunday morning and pressed for urgent help to the affected families.
Keeping with his and his party’s tradition of highlighting plight of the people affected by natural disasters and other problems, Altaf Bukhari asked the government to make an urgent move to help the people in Kangan who have suffered huge losses.
In a post on social media platform X , Altaf Bukhari said, “ I urge the authorities to ensure adequate assistance and compensation for those who suffered losses due to the cloudburst that hit several areas of Kangan in the district of Ganderbal early this morning. Thankfully, there have been no casualties in the unfortunate incident. However, reports suggest that some buildings, including residential houses, have suffered damages due to the flash floods triggered by the cloudburst. Also, the heavy rainfall has caused extensive damage to paddy fields, and several vehicles have become trapped in the resulting debris. In this hour of grief, the administration must ensure all necessary measures are taken to support the victims of this natural calamity.”
